Anniversary event of the Plateforme Traite on 28 October 2025
As part of the 2025 Action Weeks Against Human Trafficking and to mark its fifth anniversary, the Traite platform organized an educational event at which two studies on cantonal differences in victim protection were presented. This was followed by various workshops that focused on the often invisible forms of human trafficking: trafficking for sexual exploitation and labour exploitation, as well as child trafficking.

Workshop 1:
Human trafficking for sexual exploitation: The situation in Switzerland – FIZ & MayDay
According to statistics, human trafficking for sexual exploitation has always been one of the most recognised forms of exploitation in Switzerland. Nevertheless, it often takes place behind closed doors. In this workshop, we will examine the mechanisms that often underlie this form of exploitation: In what contexts does it occur? What are its distinctive features? How can it be made (more) visible? And: What needs to be taken into account from the perspective of victims (and their protection)?
Workshop 2:
Labour exploitation in Switzerland: understanding and taking action – ASTRÉE & AVIT
Using concrete situations, the speakers highlight the challenges associated with recognising this crime in Switzerland and, together with the participants, seek possible solutions to strengthen victim protection and the prosecution of perpetrators of trafficking.
Workshop 3:
Child trafficking and exploitation of minors in Switzerland – CSP GE
As a phenomenon that is still poorly understood and documented, this issue will be explored through the sharing of field experiences by the speakers. The workshop aims to raise awareness among participants, strengthen their ability to identify relevant situations, and improve the care provided to this specific group.
